The yeast genome sequence has approximately 6,000 genes. We have made a set of haploid and diploid strains (21,000) containing a complete deletion of each gene. In order to facilitate whole genome analysis each deletion is molecularly tagged with a unique 20-mer DNA sequence. This sequence acts as a molecular bar code and makes it easy to identify the presence of each deletion."},{"lastName":"Feldman","clinicalFocus":[],"appointments":[{"appointment":"Professor,Biology (School of Humanities and Sciences)"},{"appointment":"Member,Bio-X"}],"primaryAppointment":"Professor,Biology (School of Humanities and Sciences)","imageUrl":"http://med.stanford.edu/profiles/viewImage?facultyId=6220&type=small&showNoImage","displayName":"Marcus Feldman","firstName":"Marcus","href":"http://med.stanford.edu/profiles/Marcus_Feldman","researchInterest":""},{"lastName":"Hadly","clinicalFocus":[],"appointments":[{"appointment":"Associate Professor,Biology (School of Humanities and Sciences)"}],"primaryAppointment":"Associate Professor,Biology (School of Humanities and Sciences)","imageUrl":"http://med.stanford.edu/profiles/viewImage?facultyId=6644&type=small&showNoImage","displayName":"Elizabeth Hadly","firstName":"Elizabeth","href":"http://med.stanford.edu/profiles/Elizabeth_Hadly","researchInterest":"The research of Elizabeth Hadly probes how perturbations such as climatic change influence the evolution and ecology of Neogene vertebrates."},{"lastName":"Messer","clinicalFocus":[],"appointments":[{"appointment":"Postdoctoral Research fellow, Biology (School of Humanities and Sciences)"}],"primaryAppointment":"Postdoctoral Research fellow, Biology (School of Humanities and Sciences)","imageUrl":"http://med.stanford.edu/profiles/viewImage?facultyId=9979&type=small&showNoImage","displayName":"Philipp Messer","firstName":"Philipp","href":"http://med.stanford.edu/profiles/Philipp_Messer","researchInterest":""},{"lastName":"Liu","clinicalFocus":[],"appointments":[{"appointment":"Postdoctoral Research fellow, Medicine"}],"primaryAppointment":"Postdoctoral Research fellow, Medicine","imageUrl":"http://med.stanford.edu/profiles/viewImage?facultyId=9664&type=small&showNoImage","displayName":"Chih Long Liu","firstName":"Chih","href":"http://med.stanford.edu/profiles/Chih_Liu","researchInterest":""},{"lastName":"Pringle","clinicalFocus":[],"appointments":[{"appointment":"Professor,Genetics"}],"primaryAppointment":"Professor,Genetics","imageUrl":"http://med.stanford.edu/profiles/viewImage?facultyId=7022&type=small&showNoImage","displayName":"John R.
