The purpose of the Homocysteine Study was to determine if lowering their high plasma homocysteine levels would reduce their mortality. Secondary endpoints included reductions in myocardial infarction, stroke, and amputation of a lower extremity. The results showed there was no improvement in survival or reduction in the cardiovascular events."}]}
