    The Butte Lab at Stanford builds and applies tools that convert more than 300 billion points of molecular, clinical, and epidemiological data -- measured by researchers and clinicians over the past decade -- into diagnostics, therapeutics, and new insights into disease.

    Clinical informatics: optimization of commercial EMRs to support complex clinical workflows in newborn intensive care; clinical decision support; real-time clinical dashboards; electronic sign-out tools; and IT-supported patient/family communication. Analytics: LPCH's enterprise data warehouse; reporting of business and clinical metrics; and mining clinical data to generate new knowledge.

    Data mining data mining and databasing in immunoinformatics; prediction of adverse reactions to pharmaceuticals; design and development of data extraction programs, including semantic encoding, of biomedical data; multiple roles in Human Immunology Project initiative within the Butte lab: standards development, development of immune signatures; Next-Gen sequence analysis in the Kay lab, including Amazon Cloud deployments. Prediction of birth prematurity using a meta-analysis approach.
