Research Interest
The long-term research goal of Dr. Utzs laboratory is (1) to develop a better understanding of the pathogenic mechanisms underlying systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and other autoimmune diseases by exploring signaling pathways that are activated during apoptosis; and (2) to better understand the complicated process of programmed cell death.
