Studies show that Hispanic/Latino people with cystic fibrosis may not be as healthy as others with Cystic Fibrosis (CF). This study will look to see if there is a genetic, or inherited, reason for this. Through a small blood sample we will look at 3 genes other than the one that causes Cystic Fibrosis. If certain types of genes are present in the Hispanic/Latino population it may help understand why there are different health outcomes. This information will be linked to the health status and history as reported in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Registry. Understanding this might help to develop new therapies to improve the health of Hispanics/Latinos with cystic fibrosis in the future.
