People with the conditions listed in this trial can participate as controls.Key Inclusion Criteria:
3.11 All patients who have had ovarian tumor tissue removed including all malignant
epithelial tumors, (including papillary serous carcinoma) germ cell, sex cord
stromal and other primary ovarian malignancies. At least one gram of tumor
tissue is required for patients with invasive malignant ovarian epithelial tumors
or ovarian tumors of low malignant potential.
3.12 All patients who have had ovaries removed because of extra-ovarian peritoneal
serous papillary carcinoma.
3.13 All patients who have had ovaries removed prophylactically because of a first or
second degree family member with cancer.
3.14 All patients who have had primary cervical or uterine corpus tumor tissue
removed.
3.15 Patients may have received prior hormonal, cytotoxic chemotherapy, irradiation
or surgical therapy.
Key Exclusion Criteria:
3.21 Patients who do not have primary ovarian tumors, other than those with extraovarian
peritoneal serous papillary carcinomas or those who have had ovaries
removed prophylactically and patients who do not have primary cervical or
uterine corpus tumors.
3.22 Patients with benign cystic tumors of the ovary including cystic epithelial tumors
and mature cystic teratomas.
3.23 Patients not registered on Protocol (through the Statistical Office) within six
weeks after surgery.
3.24 Patients with invasive malignant or low malignant potential ovarian epithelial
tumors with less than one gram of tumor tissue available to submit to the bank.
Note: If tumor has been previously submitted from primary surgery from a patient on Protocol GOG
#152, tumor must be submitted from secondary cytoreduction when available. The method of
submission including the requirement for normal tissue and serum is the same as for any other
136 case. You will receive two additional per capita points for the second submission.
