Research Interests
Health services research in primary care and geriatrics: One set of projects focuses on developing methods and data to incorporate quality of life information into cost-effectiveness analyses. Current work includes a population-based survey of utilities for states of functional dependence, and a project to develop a mapping from a health status survey to a utility measure. Another project involves development and evaluation of methods (particularly automated patient-specific decision support for clinicians, alone and in combination with group medical visits) for implementing clinical practice guidelines, using management of hypertension in primary care clinics to develop model programs.
