Scientific Focus
Current Research Interests
Primarily, I am interested in studying the development of early neural network activity patterns, and specifically, in addressing the cellular and ionic mechanisms underlying cortical and hippocampal rhythmic activity possibly leading to pediatric epilepsy. My research goals focus on discovering the role of certain environmental factors during embryogenesis; and finding candidates responsible for causing neurological dysfunctions in frequently exposed fetuses.
