Worlds Apart follows patients and families faced with critical medical decisions as they navigate their way through the health care system. Shot in patients’ homes, neighborhoods, and places of worship, hospital wards and community clinics, Worlds Apart provides a balanced yet penetrating look at both the patient’s culture and the culture of medicine. Accompanying the series of films is a facilitator guide written in collaboration with Alexander Green, MD and Joseph Betancourt, MD, MPH, from Harvard University School of Medicine. As of 1/06, more than 50 medical schools and 695 institutions are using Worlds Apart as an educational tool.
