Description: The Stanford University-Asia Medical Fund (SAMFUND) was established in 1982. Every year the Stanford Committee chooses 2-3 fellows from nominating committees at Beijing University, Zhongshan (Sun Yat-sen) University, and Hunan University. SAMFUND has worked closely with Keio University in Tokyo and the University of Hong Kong. SAMFUND has enabled >60 Pacific Rim fellows to be trained in research for at least one year each at Stanford University.
