Scientific Focus
Research Interests
My research interest is in medical simulation. Simulation involves replicating real situations to achieve a specific goal. In healthcare, simulation has the potential to improve both patient safety and trainee education by providing a safe environment in which to practice. My current interests include:
1. Utilizing high fidelity simulation along with debriefing to teach teamwork principles of Crisis Resource Management (CRM)
2. Development of trigger videos to model and discuss CRM principles
3. Development of cognitive aids for crisis management
4. Improving formative feedback for trainees by applying methods adapted from organizational behavior and business literature
