Scientific Focus
Current Research Interests
We have a prospective protocol for the airway and swallow evaluation of infants with micrognathia in an effort to better define when it is appropriate to perform mandibular distraction. We are investigating the vascular anatomy of the post cricoid region to better understand the common observation of vascular anomalies at this site. Finally, working with colleagues at the Cleveland Clinic (CCF), we are conducting a long term follow-up (2-8 years) of children who have had powered intracapsular tonsillectomy at CCF between 1998 and 2004, with the goal of better defining the long term incidence of recurrent tonsillitis, tonsillar regrowth and persistent obstructive sleep disordered breathing.
