Current Research Interests
As director of the Pediatric Heart Failure Program at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital and Stanford University, I am primarily interested in improving clinical care for children with heart failure and cardiomyopathy. This includes the testing of new drugs for heart failure, such as the recently concluded investigation of carvedilol for symptomatic heart failure in children; as well as the development of new techniques for cardiac resynchronization in patients with right ventricular failure. Additionally, I am involved in more basic studies evaluating right ventricular wall motion , and the development of new techniques for evaluating right ventricular function.
