Current Research Interests
My main research interest is in the field of obstetric anesthesia. Specifically, I am currently interested in hematological and hemostatic changes during the peripartum and postpartum periods. Our group is using point of care devices assess in vivo and in vitro changes in coagulation before and after delivery in low and high risk obstetric patients. In addition, we are interested in using electronic databases to assess the factors associated with obstetric hemorrhage, and to assess the effectiveness of clinical management strategies for postpartum hemorrhage.
Clinical Trials
- Postoperative Pain and Functional Patient Outcomes after Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery. Recruiting
- Prophylactic Enoxaparin dosing for prevention of venous thromboembolism in pregnancy – a prospective randomized trial Recruiting
- In-vitro study to assess the coagulation effects of exogenous oxytocin using thromboelastography. Completed
- Thromboelastography to assess hemostatic changes in patients undergoing elective Cesarean delivery. Completed
