Born in Bradford Research Presentation

"Born in Bradford: Can a Research Study Change a City?"

John Wright will tell the story of a city and a birth cohort. Bradford is one of the most deprived cities in the UK with high levels of ill-health. Born in Bradford was set up ten years ago to help understand the causes of ill-health, but more importantly to act as a catalyst for change to improve health and well-being. From small beginnings the study has become one of the leading cohort studies in the UK with rich research, clinical and biological characterisations of 30,000 citizens. In 2016 it gave birth to the world’s first experimental birth cohort: Born in Bradford’s Better Start.
