The Stanford Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship is designed to produce leaders in Academic Pediatric Hospital Medicine.

Fellowship Program Aims

The Academic Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program at Stanford University aims to produce pediatric hospitalists who:

  • Will be experts in caring for hospitalized children with a variety of acute and chronic conditions 
  • Will be proficient in core skills essential to the care of hospitalized children
  • Will be academically productive, generating new knowledge and scholarship in areas such as education, quality improvement, performance improvement, clinical informatics, clinical research, and health services research
  • Will be future leaders in hospital administration, quality, and value-driven health care

Fellowship Application Timeline

The Stanford Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship Program is participating in the Pediatric Specialties Fall Match.

  • Application Deadline: September 15, 2018
  • Interviews: September - November
  • Rank Order List Deadline: November 28, 2018
  • Match Day: December 12, 2018
  • Fellowship Starts: July 5, 2019

ACGME Certification of Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship Programs

The Accreditation Council of Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) recently announced that it will accredit Pediatric Hospital Medicine (PHM) fellowship programs. Stanford Children’s Health's PHM fellowship program was developed in 2012 and has been a leader in the national effort to achieve ACGME accreditation.
