Scholarship & Research

Our division is involved in a variety of scholarship endeavors including clinical and education research, performance and quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives. When our hospitalists are not taking care of acutely ill children, they are involved in making sure the hospital systems are working in the safest and most efficient ways possible.

Alan Schroeder, MD

Associate Division Chief for Research

Dr. Schroeder's research interests focus on identifying areas where we can “safely do less” in healthcare, and frequently lectures on this theme locally and nationally. He is currently involved in multiple projects involving common conditions in pediatrics such as head trauma, bronchiolitis, UTI, meningitis, and febrile infant management. Dr. Schroeder provides clinical care for children in the PICU and the pediatric ward and has won multiple teaching awards.
