Packard at El Camino (PEC)

The Packard at El Camino (PEC) Unit is a 24 bed satellite unit of Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford that is located at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, California. PEC offers comprehensive care for a variety of general pediatric illnesses including respiratory diseases such as bronchiolitis and asthma, acute infections such as cellulitis and pyelonephritis, inflammatory disorders such as Kawasaki Disease, and chronic conditions such as failure to thrive and constipation. Hematology-Oncology and inpatient Eating Disorder services are also available through the Divisions of Hematology-Oncology and Adolescent Medicine, respectively.

The care provided at PEC is multidisciplinary and draws from the expertise of on-site Pediatric Hospitalists (present 24 hours a day), specialized pediatric nursing staff, pharmacists, dieticians, Child Life specialists, social workers, and case managers. We strive to provide exceptional patient- and family-centered care by partnering with patients and families on daily bedside Family Centered Rounds, emphasizing communication throughout the hospitalization, and coordinating with primary care physicians at admission and discharge to ensure a seamless transition of care.
