Title

The Pediatric Diabetes Consortium: Type 2 Diabetes in Youth Registry 

Description

The goal of this study is to assess how type 2 diabetes is treated at pediatric diabetes clinics across America. Information gathered in this study will be used to inform future care and research of type 2 diabetes. For this study the participant and their parent or legal guardian will be asked to sign a consent form which will allow study staff to access the participant's care reports from Stanford and enter their information onto an online data base (the data will be entered confidentially without the participant's name or other identifiers). The participant will also be asked to fill out a questionnaire.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Must be younger than 18 years of age
  • Diagnosis of type 2 diabetes for less than 2 years till the time of consent

Exclusion Criteria

  • A diagnosis of type 1 diabetes
  • Diabetes as a result of corticosteroid use

We generally sign a participant up for this study at the same time as one of their scheduled clinic visits.
