April, 2019 -- Kerrilyn Rice, class of 2019, shown here presenting her poster at Stanford's Annual Pediatrics Research Retreat. Her wonderful community partners from Santa Clara County came to support her! 

Kerri's Impact on the Community

Kerrilyn Rice, class of 2019, recently presented findings from her project to Santa Clara County officials and funders which helped to secure about $80K in funding to expand the Madrinas (Godmothers) program--a mentoring program that pairs older, experienced mothers in the community with new moms to strengthening parenting skills and reduce the incidence of child abuse.

Joyce Javier wins Local Hero Award at AAP

Joyce Javier, class of 2004, wins the Local Hero Award presented at the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) conference in November 2018. This award recognizes pediatricians who are leaders through action and advocacy for children in their communities. Dr. Javier currently works in the Division of General Pediatrics at the Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
