2020 Faculty and Staff Awards
The Annual Pediatrics Awards Day honored our faculty and staff whose work and dedication help make Stanford the great institution that it is today. Without their contributions, the advances of our Department would not be possible. Awards Day is on Friday, June 26 @ 8AM.
Criteria for Faculty Awards
Stanford Pediatrics DRIVE Award
Diversity, Respect, and Inclusion are Vital for Excellence in a thriving medical school community.
Each year, the Stanford Pediatrics DRIVE Award will recognize a faculty member who has made exceptional contributions and accomplishments in fostering a diverse and inclusive community in the Department of Pediatrics. Such might include developing models to advance diversity, achieving outcomes, recruitment and retention efforts, supporting promotion, teaching, research, multi-cultural programming, cultural competency, community outreach activities, or other related initiatives or achievements.
Advocacy Award
Each year, the Stanford Department of Pediatrics Advocacy Award seeks to acknowledge the exemplary work of a faculty member who advocate for his/her patients and families.
Examples include connecting patients with community resources, working to get needed services for patients, advocating for research funding and ensuring that essential medications are available to all patients. Advocacy activities can also include raising awareness about important pediatric health issues in the media, fighting to reduce health disparities through engagement in the community, and educating elected officials on child health topics.
