Advanced Fourth Year Fellowships Application Process
Advanced Fourth Year Program
The Division of Pediatric Cardiology has made available several funded fourth year fellowship positions for the purpose of pursuing advanced training in pediatric cardiology sub-specialties. Fellowships are available in the areas of interventional cardiac catheterization, cardiac ICU, echocardiography/CT/MRI, cardiac transplantation/heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, electrophysiology and clinical effectiveness.
Candidates should be graduates of, or senior fellows in, ACGME-accredited pediatric cardiology training programs in the US. Candidates from equivalent programs overseas will also be considered.
Our office will accept uniform applications, from June 15 through August 30 for a planned start the following July 7th. There is no “match” for 4th year positions. Candidates should forward a completed application, along with an updated curriculum vitae and three letters of recommendation, including one from their fellowship training program director to the Fellowship Coordinator and to the Subspecialty Program Director at the email addresses below.
Requirement for Medical Licensure
A California medical license is required to train in this fellowship program. All applicants must be eligible for medical licensure in the State of California. Graduates of foreign medical schools should contact the Medical Board of California to ensure the requirements to obtain a license and practice medicine in this state have been met. J-1 Visas are accepted.
Medical Schools Recognized by the Medical Board of California
All applications will be read initially by the Pediatric Cardiology Fellowship Program Director as well as the Subspecialty Program Director (e.g. electrophysiology, echocardiography, interventional catheterization, etc.) Selected candidates will be invited to Palo Alto to interview.
