Palliative Care Section Chief Honored with Sojourns Scholars Award
Stephanie Harman, MD, has been named a 2017 Sojourns Scholar by the Cambia Health Foundation, a prestigious award in palliative care designed to cultivate and advance the next generation of palliative care leaders.
The Sojourns Scholar Leadership Program is an initiative designed to identify, cultivate, and advance the palliative care leaders. Scholars receive funding to conduct innovative impactful clinical, policy, education or research project in the field of palliative care.
Dr. Harman graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. She then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Stanford and a Palliative Care fellowship at the Palo Alto VA/Stanford program before joining the faculty at Stanford's Division of Primary Care and Population Health. She is the founding medical director of Palliative Care Services for Stanford Health Care. Her research and educational interests include communication training in healthcare and bioethics in end-of-life care.
