Children's Support and Family Guidance Program

In conjunction with Lucile Packard Children's Hospital, anticipatory guidance and bereavement services are offered to children who have a parent with a serious illness.

Resources

  • Child Mind Institute - Dedicated to transforming the lives of children and families struggling with mental health and learning disorders.  The number one online resource for children's mental health information.
  • KidsGrief.ca- A free online resource that helps parents support their children when someone in their life is dying or has died. It equips parents with the words and confidence needed to help children grieve life’s losses in healthy ways.
  • National Alliance for Grieving Children - a nationwide network comprised of professionals, institutions and volunteers who promote best practices, educational programming and critical resources to facilitate the mental, emotional and physical health of grieving children and their families.
  • The Dougy Center: The National Center for Grieving Children and Families - provides support in a safe place where children, teens, young adults and their families grieving a death can share their experiences.  Offers a wealth of grief resources, consultations and trainings, books and dvds, and school/community toolkits.
