Transportation in the Bay Area

CalTrain is a commuter rail line serving the entire Peninsula from San Francisco to San Jose. Most trains are met by free Marguerite shuttles at the Palo Alto station, which serve the Medical Center. Trains run 7 days a week. Phone: (800) 660-4287.
Santa Clara County Transit Bus #22 runs from the south of campus area anywhere on El Camino Real to the Palo Alto Cal-Train Depot, then transfer to #35 which goes to the Medical Center via the Stanford Shopping Center. A faster bus, #300, makes only major stops, ending at the Campus Oval, where you can then transfer to the Marguerite to get to the Medical Center. Phone: (800) 894-9908. Route maps and schedules for Santa Clara Country Transit are available at the train depot and in the main lobby of the hospital.

samTrans (San Mateo County Transit District) serves the Medical Center with bus routes 4A and 50A. Brochures and route maps are available in the main lobby of the Medical Center. Phone: (800) 660-4287.

Santa Clara Valley Transit Transportation Information Center: (408) 321-2300 [From Stanford University to Santa Clara Valley Med Ctr (SCVMC): take bus #22 on El Camino to Naglee & Alameda. Transfer to bus #62, which will you take you Bascom Avenue (751 Bascom Ave-SCVMC)]

Transportation to San Francisco is available on the Cal-Train (800) 660-4287, Sam Trans Bus 7F, and private bus. The Marguerite goes to the Cal-Train station in Palo Alto.
