CALIFORNIA CONNECTION TO AMERICA’S TOP PRIZE IN MEDICINE
$500,000 prize announcement to be streamed live over web

News conference to introduce winner of Albany Medical Center Prize in
Medicine and Biomedical Research – the largest annual prize in medicine
in the United States (second in the world to the Nobel Prize). America’s
top medical award has a decidedly California flair in 2004.

DETAILS:
Now in its fourth year, the $500,000 Albany Medical Center Prize is America’s
top award in medicine: the largest prize in medicine in the United States,
and the second largest in the world outside of the Nobel Prize.
Established as a result of a $50 million gift commitment from New York City philanthropist Marty Silverman and the Silverman Foundation, the Albany Medical Center Prize is designed to encourage and recognize extraordinary and sustained contributions to improving health care and promoting innovative biomedical research.
