Stanford medical school's new leader

Lloyd Minor, MD, became dean of the School of Medicine on Dec. 1, and has been on campus getting to know Stanford since September. An otolaryngologist who specializes in the diseases of the inner ear, he spent the past 19 years at Johns Hopkins University and became provost in 2009. In that role, he implemented initiatives that strengthened science education, increased interdisciplinary scholarship and bolstered diversity.
