Free skin cancer screenings to be offered June 13

Skin cancer screening is especially recommended for people who get lots of sun exposure or have fair skin, many moles, atypical-looking moles or parents or siblings who have had skin cancer.

Free skin cancer screenings will be provided from 8 to 11:30 a.m. June 13 in the dermatology clinic at the Stanford Medicine Outpatient Center in Redwood City.

Skin cancer screening is especially recommended for people who get lots of sun exposure or have fair skin, many moles, atypical-looking moles or parents or siblings who have had skin cancer.

“It’s a great opportunity for anyone in the community who has any concerns about their skin to come in and get checked out,” said Carolyn Lee, MD, PhD, a clinical instructor in dermatology at the School of Medicine.

The dermatology clinic is on the fourth floor of Pavilion B at the Outpatient Center, 450 Broadway, Redwood City. For more information about the screening, call (650) 723-6316.
