harsh katzThe Pituitary Center provides comprehensive, streamlined care for patients with pituitary disorders, including pituitary tumors and pituitary hormone problems. The Pituitary Center and neuroendocrine clinical program brings together extensive knowledge and expertise in the clinical, research, and teaching applications to neuroendocrine and pituitary diseases.

The Stanford Pituitary Center is organized so that consulting physicians and patients can effectively access the neuroendocrine resources available at Stanford. Endocrinologists and neurosurgeons at Stanford participate in a multidisciplinary clinic in the management of our patients.

Endocrinologists are experienced in the administration of replacement hormones and in the use of drugs to block hormone excess syndromes (including investigational drugs for the treatment of prolactin, Cushing's disease and growth hormone disorders).

Neurosurgical involvement in the Pituitary Center ensures immediate consultation, prompt and expert surgical intervention when necessary.

The clinical nursing specialists offer patient education, including teaching self-administration of medications requiring injection, and assist with specialized hormone testing procedures.
