What to consider when navigating one's way from finding the solution to an unmet medical need to evaluating whether there is indeed a business opportunity and how to go about it?
NSUR 278 - a new interdisciplinary course designed for Graduate Students from all relevant faculties (medicine, business, engineering, law, etc.) - may provide these insights.
Seminar series by medical experts, VCs and healthcare entrepreneurs on how science is translated into a business.
Independent team project on either self generated topic or internship at biotech or medical device company
Guidance from healthcare industry experts from the start-up community
Focus: The course is also open to select undergraduate students.
Taught every other Winter Quarter. (2008, 2010, etc)
Units:
2 - Seminar series plus some homework assignments.
4 - Seminar series, homework plus team project.
