Bridge to Opportunity, Support, and Training

Stanford MSTP BOOST (Bridge to Opportunity, Support, and Training) is a four-day program sponsored by the Stanford School of Medicine, MSTP, Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Education, and Biosciences. Previously known as Preview, this program aims to introduce diverse college students to the Stanford University community and offer professional development that prepares students for the MD-PhD admissions process. Eligible applicants must be interested in pursuing an MD-PhD.

Program participants receive overnight accommodations, meals, travel to and from Stanford, and free access to the full schedule of events. Please note that the program treats international travel on a case by case basis.

Opportunities during BOOST:

  • Networking with faculty and MD-PhD students
  • Mock interviews for MD-PhD admissions
  • Longitudinal guidance from a current student
  • Personalized assistance with professional documents (e.g. CV, etc.)
  • Lab tours

Due to the situation with COVID-19, we will unfortunately not be able to accept new applicants for the 2020-2021 cycle of MSTP BOOST. This is an especially disappointing outcome for us, as we had been greatly looking forward to meeting the next cohort of BOOST scholars. In light of this, we will be seeking to generate and make public resources that can help anybody wishing to learn about or apply to MSTPs in upcoming cycles. Thank you very much for your patience and understanding, and please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions.
