MIPS Research Shows Using FDG-PET/MRI Improves Pain Diagnosis & Management

A new study from the Biswal Lab presented at the 2019 Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Medicine annual meeting showed that once clinicians were able to accurately determine the cause of pain, more than 50% of subjects changed their pain treatment to a more serious course of action. Pinpointing the cause of pain was made possible by the combined use of PET and MRI.
