The Department of Microbiology and Immunology sponsors weekly seminars during the academic year. In addition to the weekly seminars, Ph.D. defenses are scheduled throughout the year. Scientific Conference
Annual scientific conference for all graduate students, postdocs, and faculty of the Stanford M&I department.
Welcome Lunch/BBQ
This traditional fall kick-off event is held annually on campus and is attended by graduate students, postdocs, faculty and staff of the Stanford M&I department.
Journal Club
First and second year graduate students attend the M&I Journal Club (MI 250) preceding a Wednesday seminar. Invited speakers suggest one of their published articles for discussion at the journal club. The paper is then presented by a graduate student and the hosting faculty member serves as both facilitator and resource.
Graduate Student Retreat
Annual event that enables scientific exchange, social connectivity and cohesiveness between our M&I graduate students. This retreat focuses on both scientific discourse and team building for the current cohort.
