Using The Desktop Client

All computers (Windows and Mac) on which the desktop client will be used must have Java installed.

Self-serve: Download Java from Sun at http://java.com/
Click on the yellow 'Get It Now' button in the upper right.

Desktop support: Submit a request via HelpSU.

Terms of Use

This system provides access to confidential health information of research subjects. Unless you are authorized for such access pursuant to (1) an IRB approved research protocol and/ or (2) the HIPAA research policy of SU, SHC and LPCH, you must stop and immediately cease all use of this system. If you are uncertain if you are authorized, you must immediately cease all use of this system and contact Todd Ferris for verification before proceeding.

If you are authorized, you agree that:

  1. you will use the system to access only the minimum necessary confidential information allowed by your authorization source (e.g., the IRB consent/ authorization form signed by the subject);
  2. you will use any confidential information only for the purposes allowed in your authorization source;
  3. you will not copy any confidential from this system unless authorized to do so;
  4. you will take the necessary security precautions with any confidential information that you copy from this system; and
  5. you will not disclose any confidential information to others who have not been authorized to receive it.

Any unauthorized access or improper use or disclosure of confidential information will be investigated, appropriate penalties assessed (e.g., disciplinary action for faculty, students, and other employees), and steps to protect the integrity and privacy of information taken. Activity on this system is logged and monitored. All use is subject to approval, and may be terminated at any time at the discretion of the system administrator.
