Pegasus Physician Writers, along with the Stanford Medicine and the Muse Program, hold readings and other events to promote creativity, reflection and discussion on areas such as the context of medicine, the meaning of doctoring, health care, health and illness. IRVIN DAVID YALOM, M.D. LITERARY AWARD
The Irving David Yalom, M.D. Award will be presented annually to a deserving student or students active in undergraduate or postgraduate education for an exceptional essay or creative writing piece—poetry, fiction, or non-fiction—describing her or his experience with medicine. 

The first award will be presented in 2015.  More than one award may be presented annually at the discretion of the jury should sufficient funds be available. Winners will receive a $500 monetary prize along with a certificate of recognition.
