Hormones and Heart Disease

| The Women's Health Initiative (WHI) is the largest-ever study of postmenopausal women's health. The results of this study, published in 2002 and 2004, showed that hormone therapy carries a number of health risks, including the increased likelihood of blood clots and stroke. Today Marcia Stefanick, PhD, professor of medicine and former chair of the WHI steering commitee, continues to analyze the data to gain a more detailed understanding of the benefits and risks of this therapy. | |
