In April 2009, Dean Philip Pizzo announced plans for change in the School of Medicine’s clerkship performance evaluation system:

Dean's Newsletter - April 27, 2009

Beginning Period 1 of the 2010-11 clerkship year, students will be able to be recognized for exceptional performance in each required clerkship.

The new system will include the following essential features:

During the coming academic year, CBEI faculty, residents, and students will collaborate to develop criteria for exceptional performance.

A Steering Committee of physicians, educators and students will lead the initiative.

Four Working Groups will recommend specific criteria for Pass with Distinction and outline a plan for evaluating the impact of the new system.

A Student Advisory Council, led by Liz Zambricki and Alex Cardenas, held its first meeting on July 9. To join the Student Advisory Council, please contact Liz or Alex.

As the CBEI moves forward, we will post periodic updates to this site.
