Visiting Clerkships

Stanford Medical School offers a maximum of three months of elective rotations to students who are currently enrolled in their fourth or final year M.D. or D.O. program at a school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education or Education Department of the American Osteopathic Association (for details, see "Eligibility Requirements" under the How to Apply section).

All visiting rotations are scheduled through the Office of Student Affairs. The following clerkships require prior approval, please contact these departments first before submitting your application to our office. Their contact numbers can be found in the clerkship descriptions listed in the catalog.

ANES 300A, ANES 300B, ANES 300E, ANES 301A, ANES 302A, ANES 304A, ANES 307A, ANES 308A, ANES 340B, MED 302C, MED 308A, MED 325C, NENS 307A, NENS 308A, OPHT 302A, ORTHO 303C, RAD 303A, RAD 304A, and SURG 340A.

Clerkships can be scheduled only for dates specified on the calendar of clerkship periods. If you have scheduling questions, please contact directly the department to which you are applying. We require an application form, a non-refundable application fee of $100.00 per four-week rotation (or portion thereof), and several additional supporting documents.
