Blood center launches 'Grateful Life' blood drive
The Stanford Blood Center is sponsoring its fourth annual "Grateful Life Tour" now through July 7 to reach potential blood donors. All volunteers who donate blood during the designated tour dates will receive a collectible tie-dye T-shirt featuring a special "Giving is Groovy" design.
The Grateful Life Tour will be held today through May 31; again on Fridays, Saturdays and Mondays in June, and again July 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7. The tour will be held at all three blood center locations: 3373 Hillview Ave. in Palo Alto; 780 Welch Road, Suite 100, Palo Alto, and 515 South Drive, Suite 20, Mountain View.
The blood center is sponsoring a series of other programs and giveaways to encourage donations during the summer, when supplies are traditionally low. Donors can receive a half-pound of Peet's coffee, AMC movie tickets, a pint of Baskin-Robbins ice cream or Stanford athletic tickets if they donate blood on certain specified dates. For details, call 723-7831 or see the Web site at http://bloodcenter.stanford.edu.
