The Day Hospital is a clinic area which is expanding its role at Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford. Currently, intravenous infusions, chemotherapy, and other procedures are typical for the Day Hospital. However, the unit is now staffed overnight for patients who need brief inpatient treatment that does not warrant admission to the wards, and it is becoming a 23 hour inpatient unit.
