Cyrus Mirzazadeh is Bay Area native, born and raised in Alamo, California. He is a third year undergraduate at Stanford University majoring in Biology, and minoring in Iranian Studies.
Cyrus joined LGBT MERG in the summer of 2012 as a part of the Health Stories Project and has been an active member ever since. He first became interested in bettering health conditions for LGBT patients when working with HIV positive individuals as part of a Stanford program in San Francisco. He is inspired by the resiliency demonstrated by LGBT patients who sometimes must fight for the care they deserve.
At Stanford Cyrus volunteers at the Arbor Free Clinic, a student-run clinic that provides free medical services to underserved community members. As an HIV counselor he educates patients on HIV and its transmission, as well as offers a free test.
In his free time Cyrus likes to dance Hip hop, practice martial arts, and shoot the breeze with friends.
