Elizabeth S. Goldsmith is a co-founder of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Medical Education Research Group (LGBT MERG) at Stanford University School of Medicine.  In June 2012, she will be the first to complete an MD and MS in Environment and Resources through Stanford’s Emmett Interdisciplinary Program in Environment and Resources, a dual degree she worked with faculty and staff to design.  In addition to LGBT MERG work, current research topics include dietary health outcomes and connections between human health and climate change, and she has co-developed program design and internal monitoring and evaluation structures with non-profits in Mexico and India.  She hopes for a career joining clinical practice with ongoing research in global health and medical education.  She enjoys writing, reading, learning languages, and being outside whenever possible.
