Wendy Caceres, M.D. is a new member of LGBT MERG and a recent graduate of Stanford Medical School (2011). She is now a resident physician in the Stanford Internal Medicine program. While at Stanford she concentrated in Community Health, co-founding and coordinating the mental health clinic for the student-run free clinic. She led the psychiatry student interest group, and was involved with LGBT-Meds as well. Wendy is originally from Washington Heights, a neighborhood in upper Manhattan, New York. She graduated from Harvard University in 2003 with an honors degree in chemistry. As an undergrad she was active on the executive board of the Latino student group. After college but prior to medical school she worked as a research assistant and then project manager for three years with Dr. Crystal Fuller of the New York Academy of Medicine on projects to improve access to sterile syringes amongst injection drug users and reduce transmission of HIV and Hepatitis C. She continues to have an interest in health disparities and quality improvement.
