Research in Kidney Cancer and Urologic Conditions
Our research aims to improve the global quality of care for patients with Urologic conditions, with a particular focus on kidney cancer. We are evaluating the comparative effectiveness of various kidney cancer surgeries and their impact on chronic kidney disease and its downstream effects. We are investigating novel therapeutic approaches to treat kidney cancer along with proteomic assays to diagnose kidney cancer and identify signatures of response to therapy. We are also applying epidemiology, bioinformatics, and health services methods to urologic conditions. Finally, we are evaluating technologies that are applicable to endoscopic, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery.
We are part of the Departments of Urology and Medicine in the School of Medicine at Stanford University and are members of the Stanford Cancer Institute, the Bio-X program, and the Stanford Kidney Cancer Research Program.
