Alizadeh Lab In the Division of Oncology

Support Our Research

Research supported by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is in great jeopardy. After years of flat funding, NIH’s inflation-adjusted budget is close to 20 percent lower in 2012 than in FY2003, and under some funding scenarios, as many as 2,300 NIH grants could be eliminated beginning in 2013.

This will leave many talented investigators around the world unable to continue their vital research, and the number of studies submitted for publication or presentation is likely to decline. Limited research spending will also hinder our ability to provide our patients with the best care through new and improved treatments.

We depend on the generosity and support of philanthropists and granting agencies to perform cutting-edge laboratory research and develop novel stem cell therapies to treat human diseases. If you are interested in supporting our research at Stanford, please contact Phyllis Bussey, Business Manager, Division of Oncology, at (650)725-6436 or at pcb@stanford.edu.
