Set Up for Contribute
Request Site Access
use the Web Help form to request access to an existing Stanford Medicine site (provide the specific URL) or to request access to a practice site, and select the checkbox for Contribute in the form. You will be provided with a Connection Key for each site you can access.
Install Contribute
- You can download a free 30-day trial version from the Adobe/Macromedia Web site; NOTE: If you plan to purchase a copy through Stanford (next item) use the Stanford Software Licensing installer and avoid the free trial version to avoid installation problems later.
- Buy Contribute through your regular local procurement process. Contribute is available for purchase through Stanford Software Licensing (SUNet ID required to view). See the Complete Part Number List (pdf) for purchasing codes for just Contribute.
- Contribute is also available from the Stanford Bookstore, as well as the Adobe Education Store (for educational version).
Launch Contribute
Contribute contains controls, panels and buttons for editing your site's files. The demo provides a quick review of Contribute's user interface.
View site in browser
You should always view your site in a standard Web browser whenever you work on it, to validate your pages. We recommend Firefox, Safari, or any of the more recent browsers.
Optional: Quick Tour and Contribute Tutorial
Now is a good time to take Contribute's "quick tour" and/or take the "Contribute tutorial" These are great ways to familiarize yourself with Contribute's features, menus, buttons and commands in detail.
