Publish, Send for Review, Save for Later or Cancel

You have four choices for what to do with your editable page now. * Please note that if you do not Publish or Cancel/Discard Draft, your file will remain locked and no one will be able to edit that file. This is regardless of having Contribute open, or even have your computer on. Until you Publish, or Cancel/Delete Draft the file is uneditable by anyone else.

NOTE: Users assigned to the "Author" role generally cannot publish to the live site and will only be able to Send for Review, Save for Later or Cancel.

Option 1: Publish

Click the "Publish" button only if you want your changes to be sent to the server now. This will update the public Web page, and changes become public immediately. When completed, Contribute will congratulate you and return you to preview mode.

Option 2: Save for Later

Click "Save for Later" if you want to save your changes but don't want to publish them yet. The Pages panel of your Contribute shows your list of pages that you have left unpublished. You can call up your edited version of the page again in a later session, but only from the same computer.

Option 3: Send for Review

Click "Send for Review " if you wish to submit your page changes for review before publication. You will need to use the resulting dialog box to tell Contribute who to send the changes to.

You can provide notes in the "Description..." field. Contribute will auto-launch your default email client and create a stock email to the recipient(s) with a link to your unpublished draft.

Option 4: Cancel / Discard Draft

Click "Cancel/Discard Draft" if you wish to exit from Edit mode without saving any changes to the page. A dialog box will ask if you are sure you don't want to save your changes. You will be returned to a preview of the page.
