Step 1: View the page in Contribute

To edit a page, you must first view it in Contribute. Browse to the page within your site you want to edit by clicking on links, or type/paste the URL into the "Address" field and click "Go." If you are training in the MedWebTraining practice site, go to your Student # home page.

Step 2: Edit page: Update headline

Edit PageClick the "Edit Page" button. You should see a little dialog box open telling you that Contribute is prepping the page for editing. In a few moments, you are in "Edit Mode" and can edit content.

Step 3: Review editable regions

You will only be able to make changes within the editable areas of the page, marked by named green tabs. You must select something to edit it. Here is a look at typical editable areas.

BreadCrumbs: Contains breadcrumbs links, maintained in a separate file and can't be edited directly on this page.

LeftColumn: Usually contains your left navigation links, which are maintained in a separate file and can't be edited directly on this page. Don't panic if no links are visible here. Contribute sometimes has trouble displaying them, but they will work fine in the browser.

MainColumn: This is the main content region of the page. You have free access to the content within this column for editing.
