Switching to a Secure WebDAV Connection in Dreamweaver
IRT will now only support WebDAV connections through the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. Publishing through this protocol will ensure the security of sunet id's and passwords as they are transmitted to IRT's servers. To switch to the more secure connection, you will only need to modify the connection URL in your Dreamweaver site definition.
- Launch Dreamweaver

In Dreamweaver's main menu click Site > Manage Sites... In the resulting window you will see a list of your site definitions.
- Click to select the one you would like to secure and click "Edit..."
- In the Site Definition window make sure the "Advanced Tab" is selected in the Site
- Make sure that the "HTTP Address" field is set to your site's Web address (e.g. http://med.stanford.edu/mysite or http://mysite.stanford.edu/ )
- Click on "Remote Info" in the "Category" window on the left.
- Here, you will need to modify the "URL" field. While in Dreamweaver 8 this field will be displayed once you click on "Remote Info", in the MX 2004 version you will need to click on "Settings..." to get to it.
- To switch to a secure connection, simply add the letter "s" after "http" in the URL
- Click OK in the Site Definition window and Done in the Manage Sites window.
