Moving From a Non-IRT Server to the
Stanford Medicine Web Environment

Any site located outside the school's central web environment is beyond the reach of our web development and support services. Moving to IRT's hosting is a good idea if you want to take advantage of the power of the Stanford Medicine Web, use IRT Web services and support, and look professional.

If your site has a custom domain like "abcxyz.stanford.edu" and you're not sure where your site is hosted, contact Web Help with the URL and we'll figure out where it is located. Any site with the following URL format is located on Stanford’s Leland server.

You can read more about taking control of or migrating Leland sites.

Moving the sites of official entities usually includes a redesign into the standard format. Please see our Web Site Development page for more information about our development practices and policies. Sites new to IRT hosting should be directed as a new site request.

Simple hosting, without the requirement to adopt the Stanford Medicine format, is also possible, and requests are handled on a case-by-case basis.
